First of all my father passed away a few months ago at 74 as his heart stopped and I am sure that he needed a cpap and never had one.

[color=#000000][size=small]My insurance is terrible as I have to put out $6700 before my insurance pays anything. I had a sleep study and was dianosed with Sleep Apnea. I purchased my own used Aircurve 10 VAuto machine. I am doing a lot of reading and trying to be my own doctor in many ways as I have 3 children and we are a family of 5 with one income. I am so tired of being tired and having such terrible sleep. Here is the report from my first night and I feel it is not completely accurate as I was up quite a bit and the machine was running. I put it on the VAuto setting with no humidifer. Here is my report below and any help and input would be greatly appreciated. I want to live longer than 74 years old and be here for my family.

Welcome to Apnea Board. The Vauto is perhaps the best machine for treating obstructive sleep apnea and gives you a lot of options to make things comfortable. The best way to show us your settings and results is to attach a daily details chart as shown in my signature links for organizing and attaching OSCAR charts. You appear to be using settings of 4.0 to 20.0 PS 4 with a median resulting pressure of 10/6. I think your results suggest you would benefit from an increased minimum pressure. (EPAP min 8.0, Max pressure 20, PS 4). Results are actually quite good for a first night on therapy and they will get better. Condolences for the loss of your dad this past summer. He looks like he enjoyed life and riding.

First, sorry to hear of your fathers’ passing. This is not easy to go through. I did remove the link to his memorial information as it contains some personal information.
I’m going to leave the review of you data to someone with more experience on the VAuto, (I see SleepRider responsed.) I suggest that you use the links below in my signature line and post a screenshot of your daily page.
Pay attention to the organization of your screenshot and then use the attachment feature to post here.

Thank You and I truly appreciate the help. I had no problem sharing my father info as it is also a memorial to him as I am trying to learn and not make the same mistakes as 74 is way to young imo and he had terrible sleeping issues and snoring all his life as I have to but I fully respect your rules and have no issue with you removing it. I just have the world worse insurance its like having nothing at all. Its hard when there is only one income but I was very happy to be able to buy this aircurve vauto for $200 and really want to get my life better as I always feel so tired and I am always up so much and can't sleep.

Thank You Again As I really appreciate the support and help. I love my Dad but he ignored important things like his health. He was a terrible sleeper always snoring and other issues. His brothers need cpap but he never wanted to get checked and his heart stopped when he was sleeping and passed away because of it and at 74 years old that is way to young. I have 3 children and we had them later in life we were in our 40's when we had our daughter and I truly want to learn from my fathers mistakes. I completely confirmed with my insurance multiple times and they don't pay for anything and never have until I pay my deductibles and co insurances of $6700.
I am unsure how to take the charts off and uploading them on the site so I copying and pasting my last nights info. It seems better with sleeprider suggested change to EPAP.

As a fellow newbie to this esteemed board, welcome.
I am so sorry to read about the passing of your father. I do not look forward to the passing of my own dad. He will be 95 years old this month, so every now and then it pops in to my mind that I won't have him much longer. It is interesting for me to note that my father is the WORST snorer I have ever heard. Growing up he had his own bedroom because my mother could not stand the snoring AT ALL. His room was on the fifth floor and we could hear him all the way down on the first floor. The walls shook!
I KNOW he had/has sleep apnea. He has always refused to get tested, even when his regular doctor told him to do so. He is quite stubborn...he did not want to have anyone attach wires to him for the studies. His apnea has been so bad, that he falls asleep in the middle of the day just talking to you.
He does have other health issues, but that is to be expected at 95.
They say a person can be genetically predisposed to have certain health issues...OSA is one of the conditions. So, it would be safe to say my having OSA is probably due in large part to my dad. But notice...he has made it to 95 so you could just as easily have a very long life yourself. However, treating the condition will DEFINITELY be advantageous.
Regarding insurance: Are you completely 100% sure about your coverages? I have horrid insurance. But it is free from my employer so it is all I have to work with. It is an HMO. The deductible is as high or higher than yours. My co pays are very barely doable. The specialist visits are $80. But the tests and stuff, even though they have co-pays, are partially paid for. Most of my expenses go towards the deductible. Some don't, but most do. The insurance company actually requires that the machine and supplies be RENTED for a particular amount of time. I couldn't believe when I was told the rental fee would only be about $18.00 per month. (The initial amount required was around $118.00) . This goes on for a certain length of time, but I have forgotten what the length of time is at the moment.
Can you quadruple check with your insurance company??? I may be really off base about this, but it couldn't hurt to check one more time?

Plmnb your blessed to have 95 years with your Dad. I guess its old school with all these stubborn fathers. To lose my Dad in his sleep at 74 is way to young.
As far as my insurance it sucks but I was blessed to be able to but an Aircurve 10 VAuto with less than 100 hours for $200 so I don't need them anyways and I will buy my supplies online. I am pretty much going to be my own doctor with help from more knowledgable people here.
I was able to get a sleep study in the hospital with a really good friend and I have the report. I had total AHI of 29.1 and Sp02 nadir 83%. I don't understand everything yet but learning. Last night my second night was AHI 1.57
If anyone wants any information who better understands sleep studies I am happy to give any information.
Even though it says I am doing better I still feel very tired. Also I was up a lot even though the aircurve machine was on just hoping to fall asleep

This will show you how to take a Screenshot of your Daily Page. Pay attention on Organization of the Daily Chart and what we need to see. It’s important to include the Left Side Bar, minus the Calendar and Pie Chart. This enables us to see all the data.
Then use the Attachment Feature to post your chart here.
