CPAP & COVID-19 - JUST WONDERING - srlevine1 - 04-06-2020

I noticed a slight rise in my AHI (average rise 0.6) since the pandemic began and was wondering if this could be from a stress reaction or reduced movement? Anyone else out there notice a similar upward deviation.

Are there any other changes that overlap this time period?

Other than enforced solitude and growing hair, no changes. Thanks for asking.

I had noticed in the past, if I dealt with weight fluctuations, it created a slight AHI increase.
I can't say the lockdown means I do less, as a disabled guy, I did less already.
I've cut my hair down to 3 mm a week ago FWIW.
Anyway, hope you find the solution. With a safe n sane to ya on the other side of the US.

I don't know what the restrictions are in California but here in Indiana we are allowed to go out for exercise as long as we keep our distance from others. I walk the perimeter of a local park daily. Others use the same park but it is easy to stay well clear of them. And most cooperate by doing the same. I don't think I've been closer than 20 feet to anyone in the last couple of weeks and only briefly.

California craziness. The parks are closed and people are restricted from the local paths and trails. Even walking up and down the block brings a warning from the same Sheriffs operating out of the same station that arrested the Malibu paddleboarder who was out in the ocean. Intercepted by two boats, four individuals -- 2 lifeguards, 2 sheriffs in boats. Arrested and escorted by two sheriffs without protective gear as they walked him, handcuffed, to their patrol car.

Quote:County lifeguards patrolling the shore by boat tried to get the man to come ashore. Despite repeated orders to exit the water, the man continued paddle boarding for at least 30 minutes. Lifeguards eventually flagged down Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies who responded by boat to help, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

The man, who was not identified by authorities, eventually made his way to the beach, where he was arrested on suspicion of disobeying a lifeguard and violating Gov. Gavin Newsom’s stay-at-home order, a misdemeanor. Photographs from the scene show the man in handcuffs being led down the beach by two deputies.

He was booked at a sheriff’s station in Calabasas and released on a promise to appear in court, sheriff’s officials said. The man faces a fine of $1,000 or six months in jail, or both, if convicted of violating the state order. (Los Angeles Times)

When your Gov. said lockdown, he meant it. Here in PA, I'm still driving my old '91 T-bird to the store every few days to get groceries or ice cream at a local eatery. I can only handle 2 grocery bags max by myself with my carbon fiber rollator/walker. Take out only.

My AHI fluctuates +/- 5 so 0.6 aint so bad my friend.

I understand why they made a big deal arresting him. Depending on how good the waves are, a lot of people still wouldn't care about being arrested if they had a chance to surf Malibu by themselves. Just wait until it gets epic and there is still a lockdown.

In So Orange County, the beach parking lots are closed, but a few people hoof it to the water if they can find street parking.

In our neighborhood there is no issue getting out walking around. Some people are riding bikes. There is a park and an elementary school where I hit limited flight golf balls in the back where the grass is lousy. And people walk dogs, do yard work, sit out in front yard. For the most part everyone keeps their distance.

Back to your original question, my numbers have been a bit higher and I haven’t slept as well in the last couple of weeks.

I attribute it to everything that has been going on with COVID-19.
