Increased leak rate with mask liners - andreasnasioudis - 05-16-2020

Dear all,

I have purchased some simple mask liners from UK for my dreamwear full face mask as an attempt to achieve a better fit around the mouth area and reduce leaks (a lot of times I had experience with waking up due to localized leak due to movement of the jaw or face muscles).

I put the data in Sleepy head and voila something that I have never experienced before...large leaks (my standard leak rate was never above 25%...I mean the bottom line in sleepy head chart) sometimes up to 25 mins. My AHI and saturation was not affected though.

So, any clues? Is this potentially a sensor thing/false reading? Or do I need to tighten the mask(since mask liners are not solid impermeable material?)

Cheers,

Andreas

I had a same problem before. you just have to tighten it up

It is possible that mask liners require you to tighten the straps a bit. However, it's never a good idea to tighten to the point of discomfort and pain.
