When is tidal volume too high if centrals do not apear? - fejsbukpejdz - 06-25-2020

Hello, I switched from Dreamstation to Vauto.

My Tidal volume jumped from 340-440 to 540-640!

Yesterday Tidal volume was like 500 average but now it goes even higher.

I had ZERO hypopneas, ZERO Obstructives, ZERO unclassified.

Trhoughout the entire night I had 3 centrals only.

Although my heartrate was messy, maybe it is because my body is not used to such high ventilation yet so maybe it found it hard to fall asleep with such high ventilation levels? After second night on Vauto I felt energetic and maybe ?! It was weird for my body, more energy, more O2, instead of 340, tidal ran even around 640. Maybe ?! Body just found it weird and could not even fall asleep properly?

I mean... I am a little bit puzzled.

So the summarize this into one definitive question:

If centrals are not appearing, is there such a thing as too high tidal volume, if centrals are not appearing?
I mean I understand if there are centrals, we would reduce it to stop flusing out the CO2.

But what if your tidal volume jumps to 640 from 340 and yet you only have 3 centrals throughout the entire night?

If you get to 640 you'll match me, and my minute vent averages 10 L/min...don't worry about it. Tidal volume by itself is simply a measure of the volume of air in an individual breath. It has to be considered with respiratory rate to know minute vent. I assume you are talking about median tidal volume, and as a young person without pulmonary illness, a high tidal volume is a measure of good pulmonary health. If you spent a lot of time at higher altitudes or are a more athletic individual, tidal volume will be higher than similar individuals of your height. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a higher tidal volume, and without pulmonary disease, it is a good thing.
