PRS1 Set up question... - cam - 03-26-2013

Hello All!
Well ...finally got my Philips Respironics with the heated hose yesterday. When I brought it home, I coudn't access the 'Text' menu and had the 'Graphic' (icons) display. I called the supplier and they talked me how to change it over the phone but instead of pressing the control knob and ramp button simultaneously in the Set-up mode I was pushing them in the Therapy mode. When I told them it wasn't working (no beep) they said to make sure I was in the Set-up mode. It worked fine then. I was just wondering if I may have possibly reprogrammed or screwed something up when I pushed the buttons in the alternate mode. It seems to work perfectly well and I am very pleased with it.

I don,t use your machine, This setup instruction and video might be of some help

Also the manual is available via email, scroll down to "how to ask for a manual via email"

You may want to go into the setup menu and write down all the settings for future reference. Usually the only critical setting is the pressure. The rest either are comfort settings or they control what shows up on the display, so if the machine feels OK, it is OK. (Bilevel and ASV machines have more complex settings that control the therapy). If you want to understand the settings, request the provider's manual as zonk suggested.

Writing it down is a good idea, Dave! I may do that myself.

On the S9, you can view the setting and sleep reports from advanced Info menu
[No need to go to clinical menu]

To clarify...all the settings are as preferred now but was worried that I may have screwed up the circuitry or something by depressing both knobs in another mode instead of the Set-up mode.

Don't worry, the self destruct function requires confirmation by another bridge officer. Grin

The only damage you can do is to set one of the settings wrong. It can be pretty interesting to try and fix if you set the language display to Chinese, though.
