Hi everyone,

This is my first post here. After 7 long years of unrefreshing sleep, brain fog, mood issues, and various other ailments... I bought a WatchPat home sleep study. I'm not quite sure if I have OSA or UARS, or a combination of both (if that's even possible).

I'm not sure if this is acceptable on this forum or not, but I'm curious what you think I'm dealing with, as well as what I should do next (what type of machine, therapy, etc. I should pursue).

I don't have great insurance, so I'm curious if I can buy a machine out of pocket and titrate it myself. Sorry if this is a silly question! I appreciate all your help.

There has been a # of folks who have titrate them self's because of costs. If you go through Supplier #2 you can buy one with out a prescription and test your self. I would buy a new or used Resmed Airsense 10/ auto set. The auto set will figure ideal settings because it will self adjust as you sleep. I have purchased my 2nd Resmed airsense 10 / autoset and they have been very reliable. If you need a different machine they more than likely would purchase it back and give you the machine needed if you have difficult apena to treat. Oscar software will give you a view of what is going on with you sleep.
I'm sure there are others who have some in sight also to help.

You will be diagnosed as OSA, but I think you likely have UARS. Your OSA is a bit high for UARS but it is likely there. Your O2 Sats are fine.
I'd rate the OSA as High Moderate because of the RERAs so without that don't be surprised if it is called Mild OSA.

I'd suggest getting a Low hour AutoSet from Supplier5 #2 but ask them if you can get a VAuto with the VAuto is returned to them with low hours.
There is no issue therapeutically in just getting the VAuto. The above approach is just to keep your cost down if you don't need a VAuto.

It is IMHO Critical that you get a ResMed because its algorithms are targeting flow limitations.

ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet or the AutoSet for Her variant, it has an additional mode that may come into play.

Will Supplier #2 sell someone a Resmed AirCurve 10 VAuto without a prescription? Can anyone tell me?

It depends where your from I know they don’t insist on a prescription for internationals sales and they also have a sleep therapist who may be able to assist you in getting a prescription, why not phone them and ask you have nothin to lose
