Central Apnea Onset - Kazman - 11-10-2020

My Aircurve VAUTO started showing Central Sleep Apnea after the first 2 weeks.

RE: Central Apnea Onset - Crimson Nape - 11-10-2020

Hi Kazman!  - Welcome

You would be better served to use the "F12" key while in OSCAR to take screenshots for posting here.   Your photos are a little small to read.  In the interim, try setting your "Trigger" to High or Very High.  This will aid in reducing your CA's.

RE: Central Apnea Onset - SarcasticDave94 - 11-10-2020

I agree, try the high or very high trigger setting. Let us know if it helps out.

It may be time to update your user info as an old REMStar is still showing.

RE: Central Apnea Onset - SuperSleeper - 11-11-2020

Kazman sent me his higher-resolution screenshot and a PDF file as well.

I'm attaching them here so you guys can take a look and offer him some advice.

RE: Central Apnea Onset - SarcasticDave94 - 11-11-2020

Is there a specific reason for a higher PS setting like this one at 7.4? Seems a bit high to me, and it may be a good idea to explore a lower PS number closer to 4. We may need the pressure guru, but the info presented doesn't warrant an abnormally high PS. It's possible to be the cause of the high CA concentration.

RE: Central Apnea Onset - jaswilliams - 11-12-2020

I agree with Dave the ps of 7.4 could be causing over ventilation and the centrals if a high ps like that is required due to a medical condition then a BiLevel with a backup rate will be required. Please reduce the pressure support to 4

In that attached thread, I pointed out your PS is set too high and likely causing CA. It was 7.4 and now I'd say at 7 it's the same result too high and causing CA.

It would have been better to keep this contained in a single thread along with user updates that still shows a REMStar.

RE: Central Apnea Onset - Sleeprider - 11-16-2020

Kazman, I merged your two posts into a single thread.

New results look like the old. I agree with advise by Jaswilliams that PS is too high and should be set back to 4.0. How did you decide on such high PS? I'm going to suggest Vauto mode, EPAP min 6.0, PS 4.0 Max IPAP 14.0.
