New CPAP user. Can anybody suggest my Airsense 10 setting ? - chuhao - 01-02-2021

Hi all:
I am new from Taiwan. I bought Resmed Airsense 10 one month ago.  According to my doctor instruction.  My AHI value is from 100 to 2.xx. The attachments are the latest 2 nights report with Air sense S10 and N30i. I am wondering if it is possible to reduce the AHI value in advance. Could any one suggest my S10 setting ??
Thanks a lot.

Welcome,

I would get rid of the Ramp. It's at 45 minutes on 5. The pressure is too low for treatment and 45 minutes delays the needed therapy pressures. You have flow limits, so that likely means your Min pressure will need to go up. Your Max pressure looks like it needs to go up as well, as the pressure trace shows some pegging the meter, or nearly so anyway. I'd keep EPR at 3.

Hi Dave:
Thank you for your information.  Lately I caught a cold and get stuffy nose. I think it is the reason that my FL is higher than original. I will keep tracking on it. About the ramp up I will try to turn it off tonight and see how it goes. Once again Thx a alot

If you need to drop it instead of turning it off all the way at once, that's OK too. Take your Ramp pressure up to at least 6 and maybe drop the 45 min to 15 or 20. See if that is acceptable.

Do you have pillows masks to use? They may be able to blow past the congestion better.

Note that the Ramp setting is '2', which ought to translate as 'Auto', and, therefore the Ramp Time should not be displayed. This is evident if you look at the time from start to the point where pressure stats increasing. This is an 'issue' with OSCAR that will be corrected, hopefully soon.

The Ramp Start pressure could be increased to 7 if you decide you are uncomfortable with the Ramp set to 'Off'. My own minimum pressure is 10.2, with no ramp at all; it is something you can get used to,

Hi Pholynyk:
I reduce my ramp up time from 45 mins to 20 min. The latest report as attachment. The AHI value down to 1.06. I  will try to increase the initial value of ramp up value as you mention.  Thanks
