Can you tell the date that a Respironics cpap was made by the serial number ?

My guess would be the 1st four digits are the week and year of manufacture.
You can call Phillips Respironics to find out for sure.

of course somebody can. these are medical devices subject to fda recalls, etc. the manufacturer has to have production records by number to know what production run it was in, etc. now, getting ahold of the key to reading the serial numbers is probably next to impossible. in 50 years when they are antiques it will all be widely known.

correction....... i just looked at my and my wife's sys one auto a flex's. i actually remembered to remove the water tank before turning them over. they have a serial number sticker on the bottoms with long serial numbers. at the bottom of each serial number sticker is a number. mine is 20111021 and hers is 20100706. those are probably the mfg date (2011-10-21 and 2010-07-06) and are consistent with when we got them. i got mine 12-28-2011 and she got hers 9-30-2010. so they were both 2 months old when we got them.

thanks for asking this. now i know.

If the serial number is the mfg date (year, month, and day) than all machines manufactured on the same date would have the same serial number.

If not mistaken no two machines can have the same serial number. Dont-know

i didn't give you the serial numbers. i said the date was at the bottom of the serial number sticker, not part of the serial number.

to be more specific,
the serial number on my serial number sticker is P04552474 70D7.
the date at the bottom of my serial number sticker is 20111021.
the serial number on my wife's serial number sticker is P01628855 E7E1.
the date at the bottom of my wife's serial number sticker is 20100706.

i've included a scan of my serial number sticker. note the serial number where it says SN. note the date at the bottom right of the sticker.

this is a third generation respironics. i checked my second generation and it has the same setup with the date on the sticker. my first generation one has a serial number and no date.

i know all about rain. i spent 5 years on the island of guam, north of you where it rains pretty much every day. now i live in the mobile alabama area. mobile alabama is the rain capital of the continental united states averaging about 150 inches per year. the only places in the usa that get more rain are a couple places in hawaii.

Research the Olympic National Park rain forest, in Washington State, which gets, IIRC, over 300 inches per year. Mt. Baker, Wash State, has gotten over a thousand inches of snow per year.

I wonder if frequent rain in cold climates lessens apnea perhaps by cleaning the air and removing allergens. Warm rain might increase mold and thus allergens.
