First Post Organization and Help - Lgibson - 03-16-2021

As you can see my left sidebar font is way too large. Is this just because of my using a tablet PC? Consequently I post two screenshots.

Anything on these screenshots stick out, either treatment-wise or posting? I will do an avatar. Been trying to log on for several weeks.

Hi Lgibson!  -  Welcome

You can adjust your font type and size if you go to File > Preferences > Appearance > Fonts(in the lower half).  Overall your chart looks good.  How do you feel?

RE: First Post Organization and Help - Lgibson - 03-16-2021

Thank you!
Feeling better than ever thanks to the new S10 Autocurve and this great forum. I had been on a PR CPAP with Encoreviewer since 2009! Using advice I gleaned as a lurker here I was able to bring my numbers down from the teens to my first ever 1 last night! A major advance was getting a SCC as recommended. That has stabilized my numbers which were all over the place.
I had tried to do the font change in the location you mention with no change. Do I need to select text or click somewhere to finalize the font selection?

Your numbers are as good as they get. What matters now is how you feel, are you well rested. Don't chase numbers.

RE: First Post Organization and Help - Lgibson - 03-18-2021

Thank you for the advice! This is such a fine forum.
I feel great now. I’ve always appreciated CPAP. My cardiologist sent me for a sleep study in 2009 when he could find no other cause for my prehypertension. I just never got my numbers (mostly teens) down like they are now. And this is a whole new dimension to waking up feeling good!

One question: the full-face N20 mask does not prevent my nose-breathing habit of 11 years with a nasal mask. I am suspicious that a stuffy nose may be causing some of the few remaining events when I close my mouth unconsciously. I realize this is the opposite of the usual issue where folks tape their mouths to keep them shut. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum!
Congratulations on changing machines and setting it up so well.
Interesting comment on your F20 full face mask.

My thought--a full face mask allows you to breath through your mouth or nose. I tried an F20 and it was comfortable but it leaked badly on my face.

I'm using an N20 (I've had about 4 of them.) And I use a chinstrap or under jaw pad that I made myself.

The chinstrap is a Knightsbridge Dual Strap. I've stopped using it for a couple of weeks. Back to the pad I made.

Second thread, time for more help - Lgibson - 03-31-2021

So, the progress has been remarkable both number-wise and feeling-wise thanks to all the wisdom here. I do feel like the SCC was a major step forward and of course move from an old-fashioned manufacturer made it all possible.
Now I think I'm ready for some fine tuning. In studying the last couple weeks of data I see a disturbing pattern of gradually shallower breathing followed by long OA's. Even on my best night ever with one recorded event you see it. I read that this pattern is characteristic of positional apnea which I feel like I have treated pretty well with my SCC, an Eliminator Sleep Cushion boosted up with a 1 1/4 inch piece of foam. I have a fairly long skinny neck. With this much support my mouth is naturally closed and my chin is lifted. I feel sure my chin is not sneaking down behind the cushion.
I just do not know enough yet to fix this, perhaps creep the EPAP higher, or tweak the PS? I do enjoy the very high trigger setting.

This should be merged with your other thread.
Why is your PS set to 5?
Can you show all the statistics?

RE: First Post Organization and Help - Crimson Nape - 03-31-2021

Both threads by Lgibson have been merged.

So, as you can see, raising PS seemed to improve AHI.
Still having trouble adjusting pages to get all data into the screenshot despite instructions on how to adjust the font. Hope this stat shot is enough. Thanks to Crimson Nape for the merge.
