New mask, different leaks - fred987 - 05-04-2021
I had been using a FF Simplus and it wasnt too bad. it was comfortable but I would get very annnoying small leakage around the bridge of my nose and blowing up across my eyes. after 4ish months I started to get a few other leak so I thought it was time to replace it. I saw here that the Vitera was an "upgrade" slightly better on the bridge of the nose and handled the pillow better for side sleepers, so I got it.
I've had it about a week now. 1st thing is the Medium mask is smaller than the simplus Medium, the sides are right at/on the edges of my mouth which was a big leak depending how my mouth was open so to the large I went. Now with the large I have what I think is an odd problem with a leak.. maybe its not odd.. but what to do? every night around 1-2am ish I get a decent leak at the bottom of the mask ONLY on inhale. On exhale no leak. this does not happen when I go to bed or for the 1st few hours. I am really fighting this now so after a little while I'm just taking it off for the rest of the night.
What can cause this? at 1st I thought pressure increase but I have that pressure earlier in the night without a problem. Does my face change shape?
I'm attaching a oscar screen shot for any kind of input ( related to this or not ) - I can do the usualy chart showing a little more timeline detail but I thought maybe the extra info on this one might be helpful.
EDIT--One more thing I noticed, with the new headset VS old headset, the top strap across the top of the head cannot be lengthened as much as the simplus and so it actually pulls up slightly on the sides of the top bad that wraps around to the back ( So the sides use to look straight like ---- above the ear but now curve up then down like --^-- above the ear-- ( sorry for the bad example), when I used the simplus I had that loose enough that I could fit 2 fingers under it now its tight
