ACR38 card reader problem - OSCAR - Choke43 - 05-24-2021

I have been using an Resmed VPAP Auto because my newer unit failed. This VPAP uses a non SD data card/strip. I am not sure what it is called. I have a Resmed ACR38 card reader that connects via USB. I have not been able to get OSCAR to read the data card from my VPAP. I installed a driver from Advanced Card Systems, the source of this device and Windows Device Manager states that it is working properly. I cannot see this device with File Manager like other USB storage devices. Should Oscar read the data on this card??

Hi Choke43!  -  Welcome

From your description, it sounds like you have a Resmed S8.  That model was discontinued May 2011.  OSCAR does not support that old of a CPAP.  - Confused  - Sorry!

Also, the required USB driver for your card reader has been reported not to work in Windows 10 when trying to use it with ResScan.

For your information, Resmed is preparing to release the AirSense 11 within a few months.

After perusing the ResMed legacy support site, I conclude that your VPAP Auto is a Series 8 machine (or older!).

As far as I know, older versions of SleepyHead may have supported Series 8 machines. If so, it was dropped before the OSCAR project was started.
ETA: I can't find any mention of Series 8 conditional code in my oldest copy of SleepyHead v0.9.8, so I can't hold out much hope.

If you can create a zip file of your data card - using either a Windows program or OSCAR v1.2.0 - I could take a look at it, but I can't promise any useful results. I hope you don't need to use this old machine for very long.
