Oscar Isues Win 10 - Homerec130 - 05-28-2021 Just installed OSCAR 1.2.0 (64 bit) on my new Win 10 desktop. I am running Win 10-64 bit, 21H1, build 19043.985. I am running a Viewsonic 27" monitor with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. Oscar opens without any problems and I can create a profile. When I go to import from the SD card, it rapidly goes to 100% and I get the message cataloging edfs. The program will then go not responding and shut down. I can reopen the program 2 or 3 times and then the profile will no longer work. I have to delete the profile and recreate it. I have tried deleting and recreating the profile, uninstalling and reinstalling the program to different locations (default directory, D drive) all with the same results. I have tried all of the steps in the troubleshooting wiki including the one that modifies the registry for video. I have also tried to import the data with my anti-virus software turned off. All without any luck. I know the SD card is good as it loads just fine on my laptop. I also have the same anti-virus on the laptop as on the desktop. The SD slot on the computer works as I have uploaded videos from an SD card both before and after trying to import. Any ideas? RE: Oscar Isues Win 10 - GuyScharf - 05-29-2021 This could be a graphics engine problem. Either OSCAR is using the OpenGL graphics engine but your video card support doesn't work with that and needs to use the software engine. OR, the reverse: for some reason OSCAR has been set to use the software engine and the software engine doesn't work on your version of Windows. We've recently seen several examples of that situation. In your OSCAR_Data/Profiles/logs directory, open debug.txt in a text editor and post the first 50 lines and the last 50 lines in a reply to this message. That will be enough to determine if this is one of the known graphics problems or something else. RE: Oscar Isues Win 10 - Homerec130 - 05-29-2021 Guy, New development - opened Oscar and it would not let me open my profile, or destroy it. Also, when I look/search for the OSCAR_Data folder I can't find one - search brings up no files found. And I do have Show Hidden files turned on (just in case) RE: Oscar Isues Win 10 - Crimson Nape - 05-29-2021 Where is your OSCAR data file located? Where does OSCAR think it is? RE: Oscar Isues Win 10 - Homerec130 - 05-29-2021 Guy, Sorry for the confusion - it appears the OSCAR-Data folder is sent to One Drive - Anyway, here is the latest debug info from this morning. It looks like the graphic dirver is the LegacyGFX. Nape - 05-29-2021 I see a potential problem. Since your data file is off-site, any network latency can cause problems. OSCAR was written with the idea that the data files would be local. There isn't any timeout code built in to address a slow network. I would suggest that you move your OSCAR_Data folder to your Documents directory and point OSCAR to its new location. Now see if you experience the same problems. RE: Oscar Isues Win 10 - Homerec130 - 05-29-2021 Guy, Moved the folder to my D drive (local traditional hard drive) and pointed OSCAR to it. (Based on the message it gave me when I first started it). Verified that there is OSCAR_Data folder on my One Drive and there is one on my D:\documents\Oscar_Data and it contains my profile. Opened up OSCAR and it will NOT let me open my profile or destroy it. It will let me edit it. The only way to destroy it is to close OSCAR and go into the OSCAR_Data folder and delete the profile. I have emptied the recycle bin and restarted the computer but it makes no difference. When I try to import the data, I get the rapid progress on the bar and then I get a Not Responding when cataloging the edf files. I do get the ResMed prompt when beginning an import. RE: Oscar Isues Win 10 - GuyScharf - 05-29-2021 You have the classic symptoms of OSCAR using the software graphics engine and an incompatiblity with Windows 10. Download https://www.sleepfiles.com/OSCAR/Patch/SetOscarGraphicDisplay.xbat and save it to disk. Open command window, using "cd" commands, navigate to the folder where you downloaded it to. Change the file extension from .xbat to .bat. (i.e., Rename the downloaded file from SetOscarGraphicDisplay.xbat to SetOscarGraphicDisplay.bat.) Type "SetOscarGraphicDisplay" on the command line. The batch file will show three graphics engine options. Type 1 and press return. Does OSCAR work now? RE: Oscar Isues Win 10 - Homerec130 - 05-29-2021 Guy, That did the trick. Now I am waiting for the SD card to load.So far it has been running about an hour and is at 37%. In defense, there is a lot of data on the card and this is the first install. Many thanx.
