ResMed 4.01 vs. 4.2 Software? - BobF - 05-08-2013

I have ResMed Version 4.01 software. It works fine. What does the Version 4.2 do that the Version 4.01 does not. Is there any reason to update? If updating can I save all my data that was read with 4.01? Thanks, Bob.

I do not have any experience using the ResScan software.

I am also not aware of any changes in the output data structure between ResScan Version 4.01 and 4.2 like there was between the 50 Series and 60 Series Philips Respironics System One machines.

Best of luck to you. Sleep-well

Hi. OK. Thanks. I don't see any reason to update to 4.2. Best regards, Bob.

Which ResMed machine are you using?
Profile shows ... Humidifier: H5i ... so its an S9
Next to power button should say model name
AutoSet and Elite are data capable machines
Escape and Escape Auto are not data capable machines

I don't have a definitive answer, but my impression is that newer versions of the software are mostly to handle newer models of CPAP machines. ResMed's been adding a lot of low volume, specialized high end machines lately.

There may be also some bug fixes or minor improvements. There might also be some changes needed for new versions of windows.
