Provide easier CSV access to Resmed BRP and PLD files - 2SleepBetta - 07-15-2021

Would it be difficult to carve out of OSCAR and put a dumb-user-friendly face on the code OSCAR uses to string together and (even start-time) time-synch the BRP and PLD files? Further: do all that and have added code provide output to a CSV file? Dreaming! Smile

You are indeed dreaming. The PLD file is a collection of 16 bit integers, recorded at 25 per second, or 1500 per minute. The BRP file is recorded at 30 per minute. The file size explosion would be immense.

Better to learn hoe to use edfbrowser, an open source file viewer. There are also packages available for the math programs, although I haven't looked at any of those.

Thanks pholynyk,

It's the huge data sets and piecing all together, time sequenced, that  I've been doing in Excel that gave rise to the dream. It's tedious and doable, but after using Excel back to 2.0 in the eighties it's a whole new navigation game in the vast oceans of BRP files' data--just for the time and flow rate columns from the 0.04-second logging (100 points per 4 sec breath). The far less frequent selection and synchronizing times and FL in the PLD files is easy enough.

Fortunately, when using OSCAR one can focus on only prepping FR curve related data for OSCAR import. Thanks to the oximeter emulations you put me onto. And thanks for your comment somewhere, I think, that led me to the EDF browser that one can pass EDF files through to get CSV formatted text out.

Oscar, that great and always improving tool, will present the FL in full detail for most current questions. But I'd like easier CSV access to TV, MV, I and E logs as well. Smile
