Philips CPAP Product Recall Action - patlink - 07-16-2021

Does anybody knows the details of Philips CPAP product recall action?
I'm living in Hong Kong, just noted from the Government authority information about this product recall action from the product manufacturer.
It seems that the material used in the unit's air chamber will release small particles which will influence patient's health!

Hi,  It is even worse than that.  Pls look at these 2 videos and the other links below that  I found while researching.

"The problem with the foam, according to Philips, is two-fold: First, the PE-PUR foam can emit toxic gases that enter the air tube, where they are inhaled by the patient. Second, the foam can deteriorate to the point where small particles of the foam also enter the air tube, where they similarly are inhaled into the patient's lungs. While there is little scientific research specifically investigating the health risks posed by inhaling actual particles of the foam (largely due to it being such an uncommon risk under most circumstances), there is a much greater body of evidence indicating the serious health risks posed by the gases produced by the PE-PUR foam."

Here is the name of the gas:

Jul 07, 2021 · Based on statements made by Philips, the degradation of the PE-PUR foam can lead to the release of several gaseous Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), including diethylene glycol, Toluene Diisocyanate, Toluene Diamine, Phenol Dimethyl Diazine as well as potential inhalation of degraded particles of the sound dampening foam.

I heard about the recall and was concerned, knowing how companies work.  I called my provider LinCare for a new machine and they said Philips will be replacing or repairing the machines but did not say how long it would take and they would send me a filter for the hose in case there are particles.  Haven't received it and its been 2 weeks.  I discovered that Philips sends the air through the dangerous foam which produces a toxic gas and just partials (refer to foam, removal guide video). I have a fatal lung disease (3 to 5 years left" and I cannot afford to wait for Philips' action. I have been experiencing quite a bit of the symptoms mentioned.   Fortunately I can afford to buy my own until I can get my insurance stop payment to LinCare, have them pick up Philips machine and submit a claim for the new one myself.  This I do not look forward too, but at least I feel safe and not being slowly poisoned since have had a Dreamstation One (on the list) for 5 years and last October received a new DSX700 Dreamstation Auto BiPap with Humidifier.  They are both on the list.  BTW there is a graphic  list that shows all the machines affected, but I can't find the link now.  Philips, Classaction and FDA as well as other sites just show the main ones, but there are many other since 2013.  When I find it, I will post it.

I purchased a ResMed Aircurve10 from Sleep Direct  [DME Link Removed] and they shipped it overnight once I emailed them the script. Just make sure your doctor writes the setting on the script.

Hope this helps and wish you the best for obtaining a new machine that is not Philips.
