Airfir F20 frame disassembly? - alexwilson - 07-17-2021

Hi all,

I just got an F20. How exactly do you pull the frame off of the cushion? They are very firmly connected.

Cheers,
Alex

I started out using an AirFit F20. It did pretty well, but I eventually went with an F30.

Anyways, when the mask and cushion are new, they are quite stiff. I simply squeezed the cushion in the middle to remove it from the mask.

Just grip the mask with one hand, and use the other hand to squeeze the cushion. It will break free. It gets easier the more you use it.

To install the cushion to the mask, I did the same process, and push hard, to secure the two.

Success! I was afraid to squeeze too firmly before. Thank you!

How do yo like F30 compared to F20?

When you get a new set of headgear straps, I would recommend very highly you save the magnetic clips that go on the bottom of the mask. The recently redesigned them and I have broken 2 of them. If you want to pick some up, several of the suppliers on the list do sell them at around $10 a pair and you can get them the mother ship as well.

I usually save whatever parts I can when I swap out an old mask or headgear.

For me, as I'm a mouth-breather obviously, the AirFit F30 is great. I feel less claustrophobic wearing it. I still use my F20 from time to time, just for a change of pace. But....within a few nights, I'm back to the F30.

Don't be timid when it comes to using some power taking these masks apart and putting them back together. They are plenty stout and will stand up to some brute strength.

Supposedly, when you reattach the cushion to the frame on either masks, if you slightly rotate the cushion, I think it's a little counter-clockwise, it will go on easier. Once it's attached to the mask, then rotate it to the 12 o'clock position, to lock it into place.  Cool

Great advice!!  Well-done
