RESSCAN - PURE VIRTUAL FUNCTION CALL [see post #2 for interim solution] - srlevine1 - 07-28-2021

Windows 10 with ResScan 6.1

Something changed! I am now getting a "pure virtual function called" error when opening ResScan.
Reding through the forum, I have tried rebooting, reloading, replacing the VC redistributables (2005, 2013, 2015) per a suggestion from CrimsonNape, full uninstall including a manual clean-up of the registry for ResMed entries.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Steve

Try creating a new user account in Windows. I bet you a doughnut that it will work under the new account. ...I'll even eat the doughnut for you. Big Grin

Thank you, it worked like a charm. Sending you a virtual Krispy Kreme glazed donut.
Do you know of any way I can compare settings to isolate and correct the fault?
It does not appear to be the installed code, the VC++ redistributable, or the ResScan registry settings.

Yep! It's one of those Windows undocumented features. As I write this, I realize that it seems to be the username that installs ResScan. It is acting like it is unable to write the path or permissions to the active user. I'm wondering if you tried installing it as Administrator, or from another account would it work for an existing username.

I will keep at it.
Thanks for the suggestions.
