Morning Headaches - Gary Batey - 05-26-2013 Headaches persist. I have been trying to eliminate snoring through the mask. Pressure increase has seemed to deal with this. However, persistent headaches now greet me each morning. Any suggestions? RE: Morning Headaches - zonk - 05-26-2013 (05-26-2013, 08:12 PM)Gary Batey Wrote: Headaches persist. Any suggestions?Since started CPAP, morning headaches disappeared but sometimes wake up with headache if nose get stuffy and not getting enough air to breathe through the nose You might try not to over tighten the straps and make sure leaks under control and not leaking through the mouth, therapy air escaping through the mouth reduce the effectiveness of the therapy. Chinstrap can helps keep mouth closed and minimize mouth leaks Which Icon do you have? RE: Morning Headaches - trish6hundred - 05-26-2013 Hi Gary, WELCOME! to the forum.! No problems with different trial machine. Still talking to my supplier. Specialist's appointment in the near future. RE: Morning Headaches - Gary Batey - 12-03-2013 I have been experimenting to get to the cause of this problem. Currently I suspect these headaches to be as a result of my nose blocking through the night. My specialist seems to agree. He suggested a nasopharyngeal tube which I have tried a number of times. This feel feels unpleasant and does not seem to have the effect expected. At the moment I am just using a saline spray before putting the mask on. This clears my nasal passage but does not seem to be as long lasting as would allow the machine to work at its optimum. Has anyone any suggestions regarding other sprays to use or possible alternative tricks? RE: Morning Headaches - me50 - 12-03-2013 I have 2 nasal sprays that were prescribed for me. One is Patanase and the other is Fluticasone Propionate. RE: Morning Headaches - zonk - 12-03-2013 Have you been examined by ENT doctor? With nasal mask, you need to keep mouth closed and breath only through your nose but with full face mask, does not matter if you breathe through your nose or mouth Experiment with humidity. Everyone is different, some get congested on low settings and the reverse is true for others You did not say the model of the machine Icon Auto and Premo are data capable machines and supported by SleepyHead software, Icon Novo is not Without efficacy data, the doc cannot tell how the therapy is working or/and if headache are apnea related RE: Morning Headaches - Tez62 - 12-03-2013 Gary Batey, do you know if your a mouth breather, if your nose gets blocked you will breathe through your mouth which makes the treatment not work as well, possibly not at all. Have they suggested trying a full face mask which will allow you to breathe through either your nose or mouth. |
