S10 Flashpap flashair FYSETC confusion - jaydee1445 - 11-11-2021

I hate starting a new thread on WiFi cards when this seems to be like beating a dead horse but the more I search the more confused I get.
I looked into WiFi cards a few years ago for the old PR DS and gave up. It seems I should just give up on the S10 also.
 First off I haven't done any command line programing since my MSDOS and Applesoft days over 40 years ago and my brain doesn't grasp new idea easily anymore so I'm about to give up on a WiFi solution for data transfer from the S10 to my Win10 64 bit. box. For grins the specs are MSI MPG X570 Gaming Pro Carbon WiFi. Ryzen 3800X 8 core and 32GB. WiFi is 802.11 and BT is 5.1
 I have found a 8gb Flashair 3 card but posts from march say Flashpap is not compatible with 3.0 and newer Flashair oo the other cards. I read the FYSETC thread and that looks to be a non-starter to someone that has done nothing but point and click a GUI for 40 years.
 Is WiFi for the S10 a lost cause?

You can probably still find a FlashAir W04 card out there somewhere. But you will pay a premium ($$$) for it.
Otherwise it's probably a lost cause until somebody figures out how to hack one of the other wifi enabled cards.

The FlashAir W-03 will work with FlashPAP. Be careful in purchasing a FlashAir card. One member bought one, only to find out that its Wi-Fi chip didn't work. Now it is an expensive regular SD card.

@jaydee1445

If you read the post i'm thinking of, there was an issue when MacOS BigSur came out. It broke Java for most mac people which left FlashPAP unusable for a time.
I experimented with FlashPap using a W04 card and it worked fine. And as Crimson Nape mentioned it works with the W03 also.

If I recall you would just need to install Java8 JRE

There are also other ways of connecting to the FlashAir card without using FlashPap. As suggested, buyer beware if you decide to get one. They haven't been manufactured in ~2 years. Last time I checked the software for it was still available on the Kioxia website (formerly Toshiba).

With Windows you do not need any extra software.
Map a the nework address  \\flashair\DavWWWRoot   to a F: drive and directly import to Oscar from F:.
