Should I change my machine after 6 years? - Solipsiste - 11-20-2021 Hi, I own a 6 years old Airsense 10. According to my insurance I can change to the new S11. 70% is covered. I am set to have it next week, but I'm wondering what you think about this: is there a reason to change after 6 years if the older one is still working? the only issue I see is that sometimes, the connector to the tube can be capricious, but it still works well still. RE: Should I change my machine after 6 years? - Gideon - 11-20-2021 Get the new and keep the old in case the new one fails. That way you will not be without one. RE: Should I change my machine after 6 years? - SarcasticDave94 - 11-20-2021 I guess the decision depends in part on how many usage hours your PAP has. If you used your PAP 8 hours, 365 days, for 6 years, you should be at about 17,200 or so hours. This is within the expected lifespan of 15-20,000 hours. If me, I'd get the new PAP and save your old machine for backup duty. RE: Should I change my machine after 6 years? - Solipsiste - 11-20-2021 Thanks to everyone! I will get the new machine. I hope the S11 is worth it... RE: Should I change my machine after 6 years? - DaveL - 11-20-2021 I put over 21,000 hours on my S9E that I bought used.... I bought an S10 *for her* about 15 months ago. Treatment is much better with the new machine. I regret not buying a new machine sooner. I'm sure that the S11 will be worth it RE: Should I change my machine after 6 years? - Sleeprider - 11-20-2021 Having a backup is valuable. 70% coverage would make me ask the price being charged. As long as the DME does not inflate prices above MSRP, it should be fine. |
