Resmed / Apria Messed Up - anderson5420 - 12-11-2021

A quick question - when a machine "phones home" every day, who does that call go to, Resmed or the DME?

Yesterday I got a letter from Apria asserting that I was not complying with minimum use requirements. The so-called "compliance report" had both Resmed and Apria logos on the letterhead. This caused Kaiser to decide that my authorization for payment for the AirCurve 10 had "expired." The only problem was that the report specified the AirSense 10 as the machine and the period was October 7 to November 5. I received my AirCurve 10 ASV September 3, and had paid off the AirSense 10 in July and sold it in the first week of October.  So (A), they were NOT getting the compliance info the AirCurve 10 was phoning in, of not associating it with me, even though Apria supplied it, and (2) there WERE still associating the compliance info being phoned in by the AirSense 10 and associating it with ME.  I have (I hope) got Kaiser to understand, and somehow I need to get Apria straightened out. I guess I wish me lots of luck there! The letterhead did not have a return address and it referred to an enclose reply envelope which was not enclosed. I will try to call Monday I suppose, there is a phone number...

You have both Oscar and MyAir data I hope. If your machine is registered to a MyAir account you can print the compliance report from there. Apria can also use your SD card (make a copy) to verify compliance for insurance reimbursement. When you call Apria, have the unit serial number ready and simply dispute their letter. It will help to have use data from MyAir, Oscar and if you want ResScan which is available from the forum in Private Files section.

Well, all is well that ends well. I called the guy at Apria who authored the "non-compliance" letter and walked him through the two machines and gave him the date of acquisition of the AirCurve 10 ASV and its serial number, he looked it up, and said he saw that I was right and he would get it fixed so Kaiser can continue to pay.

I am glad your problem was resolved since Apria has a criminal conviction:

Good news there Pat. It pays to keep your data and self advocate as you saw. Your good fortune will probably make it snow somewhere though.

Up where Pat lives, snow would be a major improvement over the heavy rains and floods.
