A group of apneas. Any clues as to why? - Mal777 - 12-11-2021

[attachment=37893][attachment=37894]I've been using my Resmed Vauto successfully for qute a while now, but a couple of nights ago had this group of apneasĀ  for about 15 minutes, with accompanying erratic Insp.time, exp time, tidal volume and Minute Vent.
Any clues on whats happening here?

Attached is screenshot plus a zoomed in version

thanks for any assistance

Mal, this looks positional (chin-tucking). The apnea are preceded by obstructive inspiratory flow limitations. Anytime we see cluster of apnea that stand out from everything else, we suspect chin tucking. It's nothing to worry about unless it becomes a much more common event throughout the night.

I agree that may be chin tuck or some other get comfortable deal. The close up seems to me like awake breathing followed by some halts. At least in one place there is a definite inhale, pause, then exhale. This is likely a repositioning effort.

Not to worry.
