Prone position with FFM - MikeBob - 01-23-2022

Has anyone found a way to sleep comfortably in the prone position with a full faced mask Res F20. I am recovering from Covid 19 and I find sleeping in the prone position does not produce the dreaded lung rattle (upper respiratory) The problem is the FFM gets in the way and presses up against my face allowing for only brief periods of sleep. I am not sure a nasal mask would work as I suffer from sinus issues as well. Any help be appreciated.

I don't sleep fully prone but I do kind of a half prone/half side sleep where I have right leg flat underneath me thigh down to bed, left leg out to the side and bent, pillow between stomach/chest and left shoulder to help support left side (hug it with left arm), right arm off to right side, head on the edge of pillow in somewhat down/sideways angle. That works with my full face mask and I find it a pretty comfortable position which I often use to fall asleep although once asleep I often toss and turn and change positions.

You could try that to see if it is comfortable to you. Could switch sides (left/right) if that is more comfortable to you.

No way can I sleep on my stomach or back. But, I can lay on my side / stomach. I use three pillows. One flat pillow between my knees and another pillow tucked into my chest / stomach.

It can be a handful, switching from one side to another, but after doing it thousands of times, I have the routine down pat.

I'm using either a Resmed AirFit F20 or F30 FFM. I can pretty much bury my FFM and do okay with that that way. My head pilllow allows that.
