Question about reading Sleepyhead/Oscar reports - TheManseHen - 04-20-2022
Hey all,
I've been using sleepyhead for years, and now loaded the new Oscar. I have other sleep disorders as well as apnea and so I find it helpful to read the info I got relating to wake times and so on.
Is there a way to tell by comparing various readings in either program (I know some stuff is different in Oscar so what applies to sleepyhead may not apply to Oscar) if I was likely laying awake with mask on, vs mask on and actually sleeping? I figure maybe there are clues in breathing stats or ?

I think you're asking if you can tell on OSCAR awake breathing from actual sleep breathing. Not always, but there may be clues.
Although the machine itself can't tell if you're asleep or awake, you can look at the breathing flow rate graph. Sometimes awake breathing can be very erratic, whereas actual sleep breathing may appear more moral.
If you know for sure you were awake at the beginning of the night, wait until the next morning to look at the flow rate graph and see if there is a difference.
Please note that SleepyHead is no longer supported or updated, so you may want to get more familiar with OSCAR.

Thank you for that helpful info. Yes that IS what I was asking!
I have just loaded Oscar and am familiarizing self with it but I included both formats incase someone who only knew how to read Sleepyhead wanted to respond. I figure the clues such as you said, would be similar in both.

Note that OSCAR was forked (technical term) or split from SleepyHead after SleepyHead project was shut down.
Since that time OSCAR has made over 1000, my guess, improvements and bug fixes including adding new devices and support for the encrypted DS2. There is no need to display SleepyHead data.
