How does sleepiness work? - NoddingHacker - 07-12-2022

Besides Matthew Walkers book "How We Sleep", is there any in-depth explanation of sleepiness & fatigue? How everything works, the hormones and neurotransmitters invovled etc. I am having trouble with being sleepy and wakeful at the wrong times, and basic sleep hygiene doesn't cut it anymore.

If your body's "internal clock" is off try looking up "circadian rhythm disorders".  Sometimes called non-24 disorder.  It can happen to people who work odd shifts, are blind, or other reasons.

I worked rotating shifts for 30 years. It could be a challenge at times, but I adapted. Sometimes, we rotated shifts as quickly as every 7 days.

A 30 day run was the best and most manageable.
