Changing from Philips to Resmed settings help - Captain Howdy - 08-15-2022

I'm done with my Dreamstation. It's been a long while and my OSCAR is great, but i'm still not feeling rested. Plus my Dreamstation has been recalled and I have no idea what will happen or if i'll be without a machine. So I have been recommended the Autosense 10 auto by Sleeprider. But just want to know the best settings to use plz. I have posted an OSCAR screenshot below. Is that enough? Or do i need to provide more info?

cheers!

Flex is off or at lowest it can go
Ramp is off

It would help if you posted a screen shot with the left column scrolled down so that we can see your current settings

Pretty simple
Mode: Auto
Min=Max pressure =9
EPR=Off
Ramp =Off

A simple question, why are you using Fixed at 9?

Many times when you switch brands you may need to be re-optiminzed because different algorithms are being used.

After a fair bit of changing masks and toying with settings, that was the pressure that gave me the best results.

That's perfect, and it confirms Gideon's suggestions.

Notice that he changed the mode to Auto, and set the min and max to 9. This is therapeutically the same as CPAP at 9, but ResMed gives additional information on Flow Limitations in Auto mode that get left off in CPAP mode.

Good one. Thankyou. I'll start with those and report back when I get the machine.

New Resmed AirSense 10 AutoSet machine purchased! Exciting stuff.

I have set it up as you recomended:

Mode: Auto
Min=Max pressure =9
EPR=Off
Ramp =Off

The technician said i should start my min pressure at 8 and max at 16. What are your thoughts on that vs min=max = 9?

also what are your experiances with the auto climate change?

Look foward to getting back with some results

I don't disagree with your technician. Your are coming from using a DS to a ResMed, and a 8-16 pressure range would give us a good idea what your needs will be.
I would set up EPR 2 for comfort.

Adjustments can be made after we get an idea what your readings and comfort level are.

Be sure you have an SD card in your ResMed, preferably a new card.

Don't forget to order a Clinicians manual.
