Decision - decision - hoffman13954 - 07-20-2013

I had a Respironics Bipap system one auto 750p machine that quit working. I tried the auto feature but I did not like it so the machine was set on manual epap and Ipap. I used the Biflex feature set to 1. I currently have a resmed VS loaner that I do not like as well as the respironics machine. With it set on the same settings, it seems like I am starving for air.
I am going to purchase a new machine so I could use some help. I do not need anything with the auto feature but I do need the biflex and anything else my 750P had for better breathing. I don't want to spend the extra money for the auto feature but if that is what I have to do to get a machine similar to my 750p, that is what I will buy.

Thank You for any help,
Hoff

Thank You Trish.!!
I am hoping that someone can help me to make the right decision. There are so many choices and options out there that it is hard to choose. I am going to have to live with my decision for at least the next 5 years so I am willing to spend a little more money now than to be sorry for a long time. I have not had very good luck with respironics machines. I have gone through two of them since 2004. Both of them are currently broke. But if they will give me the best sleep, I will worry about it breaking when it happens.

Maybe it's time to try a ResMed S9 AutoSet.
About the only thing it wont do is replace a higher pressure BiPAP or AutoServo machine.
It's fully data capable and works well with SleepyHead software (price is right on the software = Free)

Shastzi,
I have been using the RemStar VPAP S for a couple of weeks. It doesn't seem to be as comfortable as my Respironics 750P was. Is the S9 better than the VPAP S? There might be some adjustments on the VPAP S that I don't know about. I seem to require a lot of air when I inhale. Even with the respironics set on 11-16 vs the VPAP S setting on 12-17. The respironics seemed to give me more air when inhaling. Exhale is okay.

Thank You for the reply,
