Airsense autoset 11 can I disable blowing again after turned off? - plaidwandering - 01-05-2023

per this article, this is supposed to happen https://ap.resmed.com/en/knowledge/why-does-my-machine-keep-blowing-air-after-i-turn-it-off

however this is really nonsense, the humidifier is not hot - all it results in is my nasal pillows having water in them when i come back from a middle of the night bathroom trip

I'd like to disable or delay this, is there a configuration option?

Depending on the individual item, and individual settings, those humidifier bottoms get smokin' hot, especially if you let them run dry.

Apart from that, the slow blow also helps to dissipate condensation left in the tube and mask.  It dries the innards.

You don't want to disable this, this is a very useful feature that can help keep your system clean.

In the morning you can empty and dry out your reservoir, then reinsert it into your machine, and the machine will not only cool the reservoir, it will blow itself dry so mold will not develop in your hose or mask. Keeping things dry when you're not using them is a really good way to keep things clean.

I disagree about the usefulness

This isn't about in the morning, not that I have ever needed to take anything out and allow it to dry then either.

it's solving a problem that never existed in five years of cpap use, and still doesn't exist on dreamstation 2

I slightly prefer the airflow on the airsense 11 to the ds2, but not at the cost of dealing with water nonsense anytime I wake up to a quick potty trip

Turn down the humidity?

Or, instead of taking the mask off to go to the bathroom - keep the mask on your face and disconnect it from the hose?

Or, Leave the machine running when you go to the bathroom?

Brainstorm other possible solutions?

I used to use a F&P Icon+. It did not have the cooldown feature. If I did not empty the humidifier immediately after turning it off, I would get heavy condensation in the chamber, the tube and the blower. That can't be good for the blower. Parts that stay damp can attract biological growth.

I am glad my Resmed has the cool down feature.
