UARS looking for help with settings - tugboatxd - 01-08-2023

I have been struggling for a year with what is most likely UARS. Symptoms are pretty severe. Every day I feel like I got literally 0 sleep and I cam constantly waking up at night My study showed an AHI of 3 and a RDI of 14. The sleep specialists that I have been seeing in my city are basically useless. The last one I saw suggested that I have a "sleepiness" disorder and should try taking amphetamine stimulants which is insane. I have been using cpap for about 7 months and I have a resimed airsense 10. It doesn't feel like its helping much so I thought maybe I need to optimize the settings better. I read on this board about trying EPR and I have been doing that. My current setting are 7-10 EPR 2. I found EPR 3 a bit hard to deal with for some reason. Any advice would be greatly appreciated I will attach screen shots from last night. Have heard some people suggest BIPAP instead wondering about that aswell.

Thanks!

What kind of mask are you using? It looks like when you get to REM (the choppy flow) you are having leaking which drives pressure up and your REM might be getting interrupted. In REM your muscles might be relaxing and mouth drops open. You might want to look into a chinstrap, mouth taping, or a soft cervical collar.

I am using a f&p vitera full face mask. Yes I believe something is disrupting my REM for sure. Would explain why I'm so exhausted.

Try a chinstrap to keep your jaw from dropping and breaking the mask seal.
