Hi…I’m new to this board - Restingjess - 01-21-2023

I have been diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (Severe) by a pulmonologist. This is new to me…I had a score of 66 and my oxygen levels go into the 70’s.

A few weeks ago I started the Resmed Airsense10 Autoset with HumidAir humidifier with full face mask Airfit F10. It’s been preset to 4-12.

It hasn’t been a joyride but I’m slowly adjusting.

These 2 things have helped so far:
~ the headgear was pulling and breaking my hair. I ordered satin-lined sleep hair caps and it not only took care of the issue, but it helps with frizz.
~the silicone face mask was irritating my nose a little and I bought 100% cotton liners.

I attempted to create an account with Oscar, however, after entering my machine’s info, Oscar would not allow me to complete this. When the Cpap is on, it only shows time, mask fit, and humidifier. I believe it’s locked?
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Restingjess, Welcome

First, if you don't already have one you will need an SD card for your machine. The SD card will need to be in the machine (unlocked) while you are using it. Then you can import the data into OSCAR.

Next, you can get a setup manual for your machine here: https://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-pressure/change-cpap-pressure-settings-adjusting-your-machine-with-a-clinician-setup-manual
Which will help you get to the important settings.

Hope this helps....

You will need to download the manual to learn how to modify your settings.

I'd like you to change your settings to something that will range from 4-12, just a bit differently, so.

Set Min=7 to allow for EPR to function
Set Max=12
Set EPR=3, Fulltime.

EPR, Expiratory Pressure Relief, is a comfort feature that also helps with hypopneas and flow limits.

70% low only means to look deeper. The low is often only a spike. What you care about is how many minutes you were at or below 88%. Typically simply using any PAP machine will treat your oxygen DeSats.

Than you both. Have a wonderful day.
