DreamStation 2 - Will we ever have Access similar to Encore? - Wizard99 - 02-10-2023

Having not used my System One in over a year or more, then going through the difficult exchange with Philips, I now have the D2. Of course I only now learned the Encore Clinician is no longer compatible as it allowed so many adjustments that now unavailable to us. Being able to tweak the options kept me going with CPAP.  Anything in the works for user access to these now forbidden features?

The data is encrypted, this is currently your only choice.

Thanks Gideon I have used OSCAR in the past and am aware the new version at least can read the more common files.  I was just curious if there was efforts to get option control as Encore provided.....

No, OSCAR only reports your data. To change your CPAP parameters requires you to set them on the DS2.

Thank you CN....  I'm aware Oscar can only read from the device.  Since there are now settings "Behind the Gates", it would still be nice to have access.  I'm sure that the same issues were discussed years ago until someone was able to provide a copy of Encore to Users.

Order the Clinicians manual for the DS2. You will find that you have total access to your settings, which can be changed by you in the providers menu.

The OSCAR team has worked tirelessly to make this possible.

I remember that Encore could create a configuration file that was written to the SD card. This file would always reset the DS1 and earlier to its settings unless you deleted it from the card. I never looked at one to see if it was a text or binary file. If you happen to have something earlier than a DS2, I would try creating a setup parameter for it in Encore that look at how the file was written. This may provide you with an insight to try on the DS2.

If I recall in Encore, a Pop-Up gave the user a choice as to whether or not to FORMAT the Card prior to its contents being Downloaded....

DS2 is apparently using a proprietary clinician software to exclude patient access..... that is until smarter people than I decide to probe access to these unavailable functions.

Another member here had posted that after returning from a data check at his DME, every time he changed his settings, they would return to the ones the DME wanted. After posting his SD card's directory and compared it to a new SD card formatted by his CPAP, we found that file. Once he deleted off the SD card, no more resets.

Out of curiosity, I installed Encore Pro and of course (as stated in the download) it has no functionality and refuses to even recognize anything about the SD Card...... It's a different language altogether....

Oh Well!
