Purchase of S9 auto - gofinn - 09-22-2013

Hi All
As a newbie to the subject I need all the help I can get.
I'm considering buying one of there machines, I have dad a 30 day try period and I started feeling
more energetic and did not fall asleep at 5pm (snooze) for 45min , but started feeling tired at about 8pm.
I don't go to bed until 11:30pm.It reduced my snoring as well.
Is there further improvement to be had ?

This place [link removed] has a package for $910
you can also build your own package
Using the same specs as above it comes to $880 Can anybody verify ?
Is there another machine I should be considering ?

The S9 AutoSet is an excellent machine. Get the heated humidifier. Plan on buying the optional dishwashable water tank.

Be SURE to get the S9 AutoSet, not the S9 Escape Auto.

The Philips Respironics PRS1 Auto is roughly as good as the S9 AutoSet.

The S9 is slightly better in my opinion, but the PRS1 is fine. Either one has its flaws and advantages.

If you want the heated hose option for the PRS1, be sure to get a "60 series" model. Also, get the heated hose capable humidifier.

That really depends on the content of your prescription for the machine. Do you know anything about the data that was retrieved from the machine you used for 30 days? Do you know what titrated pressure is recommended for you?

Gofinn, welcome, it should get much better, it takes most of us 3-6 months to really start to feel the effects of CPAP, our bodies have to adjust and heal and that takes time. You should be encouraged by your progress so far, keep at it and stay positive, good luck.

Hi gofinn, welcome to the forum!

Supplier #2 has the best price I've seen:

US$ 799 for a "New, Open Box ResMed S9 AutoSet with Heated Humidifier and ClimateLine (heated hose) and Slimline (non-heated hose) tubing included."

Supplier $2 also has used models for sale for less.

However, if you plan to be reimbursed by health insurance company or Medicare, be sure to fnd out from your insurance company whether you must use only certain Durable Medical Equipment (DME) providers which have pre-negotiated contracts with the insurance company. Otherwise, you may end up paying for the machine all on your own.

Take care,
--- Vaughn

Hi gofinn,

I should have pointed out that at the top of all our forum pages is a link to our Supplier List.

http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-CPAP-Supplier-List

Apnea Board does not receive a commission or financial benefit in any way if people use our Supplier List. It is simply offered as a convenience to CPAPers.

If I'm not mistaken, Supplier #2 (and several others) ship world wide.

Take care,
--- Vaughn

I get my supplies from Supplier #10, does anyone knows of any other suppliers ship Resmed or Respironcis products outside US?
