Sums of my first night - kevke - 10-08-2013

Hey Folks,

I have made a summary of the first night.

I have split the night in 3 (well, planned was a split in 2, but in the middle of the night, I have taken the mask of, because I woke up... and I know why.

Since I am a Tec Guy, I started to tweak the system myself to the specs, I received during my night @ the physician. As you see, in the beginning I started with (and this is all APAP) 5,5 - 10 cm while I still featured some RERA and snores over the whole time. I changed the setting over the night to 6 - 13, which helped a lot.

However, although I know that a steady sinus rhythm is the best case scenario, I feature a reverse chair for Airflow/Breathing. Is this a normal transition to a sinus wave, or is there something else going on as well.

I have to admit, I feel great, accept of a way minor feeling of tiredness then I used to have. What do you think?

PS: I know that most users are specialists from experience, but not due to study, therefore I hold none responsible for any answers given in this thread.

Well, first off, it is just one night. Changes made in just one night and changes made because of just one night are not really useful. No two nights are the same. We look for trends which means watching the data for at least ten nights, perhaps a full two weeks. Learn what is your normal by watching the data. Normal won't be X AHI each night, it will be between X and X AHI with your usual high pressure hitting around XcmH2O.

As for the sinus rhythm, that's what my airflow looks like. The backwards chair. Never sure what is good and what isn't.

Kevke, you are way beyond me with your reverse chair and concern for your sinus rhythm. The report that you posted does not give cardiac data. I would caution against making changes on less than 2 weeks data minimum, and I like to tweak. An AHI is ideal under 5, but part of a night is not a good indication of how you will do in the future. To complicate matters this was just a bit over 5 hours. That said, I applaud your enthusiasm and desire to experiment to get settings right. I'm also glad you realize most of us are just end users and not specialists.
Keep us posted, please. It looks like an interesting ride.
