What is your favorite mask type? - zonk - 10-26-2013

I did not like nasal pillows and full face leaked like a sieve
Nasal mask works best for me and feel most comfortable
Viva la difference Sleep-well

Gotta be able to scratch the top of my nose .....
So nasal pillows is the only mask that works for me.

I have only tried two types of masks, pillows and nasal masks. I have been thinking about getting an FFM just in case I get a bad cold but I'm not sure which one to get, decisions, decisions.

Nasal mask... It works great so far!

One more commercial, my favorite is the Sleepweaver Elan nasal mask, next is the Sleepweaver Anew FFM.
The cloth masks are the only ones for me.
In my early days I used a "no Mask" nasal pillows with a mouthpiece like a Tap Pap. I liked it because there was no head gear and no problem side sleeping, but my nostrils were always sore.

I tried a nasal mask and a full face but both leaked like crazy. I have facial hair, which does not help. Nasal pillows work great for me. I still have some leaks but it is much improved. But YMMV.

Nasal mask is my go to. I have a FFM for bad mouth-breathing spells or when I am ill - but would like to be able to switch to nasal pillows instead - thinking less leaks - it sounds like they are much improved since I tried them some 8-9yrs ago...

I may be a bit of an odd duck here....I started on pillows, but found my active sleeping caused leaks. A nasal mask works reasonably well for me (good numbers for AHI and leaks) but if I am at all stuffed up (colds, dust or otherwise), it's uncomfortable to impossible to use.

I managed to find a ffm that fits, is comfortable for me and gives me great treatment numbers...with no worries if I get stuffed up. "One stop shopping" makes it my choice Wink

I have primarily used Nasal Masks during my 11 years on XPAP therapy. Tried Nasal Pillows (didn't work for me), Full Face Masks (Worked but I didn't like it).

Of the Nasal Masks I used (Respironics ComfortGel, ResMed Mirage FX, Respironics Wisp), my favorite one is the one I am presently using which is the Respironics Wisp. The ResMed Mirage leaked too much according to my doctor. Thinking-about

All that being said, your mileage may vary.

I'm new to this so I haven't tried a whole lot. I currently use a FFM because I'm a mouth breather. They hybrid ones seem interesting to me but I don't know if I'd be able to keep in in my mouth. Oh, but if I could just scratch my nose and wipe away drool, I'd be happier.
