CMS50F Pulse Oximeter (USB, no bluetooth) - Peter_C - 10-27-2013

I just got a new CMS50F and really like it.

It stores about 30 hours of data, has a rechargeable battery, uses USB for both recharging and data transfer.  It came with software for both real-time, and review of data, and prints reports like you can see below.

Very durable unit, and am really impressed with the finger probe.  Depending on where you buy it, currently prices are $100 to $140 or so.

One feature that I believe is very useful is the alarm function.  You can set for high, low, O2 or/and pulse.

Anyhow, this unit does everything I want.

I agree. Be careful if you look to buy this unit as there are two models, both called CMS-50F. I purchased the newer one and it is a great unit. I can match up the strip chart to my Resmed details chart and see cause and effect.

I have had the unit for about a month and like it quite a bit. I use the pinky finger for readings overnite due to pudgy fingers as the others have too much tension. I had some problems accessing my reports as first as the data had to be downloaded through the desktop icon instead of the pull-down menu.

I used the results to convince my provider to add oxygen at nite, which has made a huge difference. Just need to get a portable concentrator, as the 45lb unit will make it hard to go cross-country motorcycling in the future.

I bounce around '90' at night. While I get drops as low as the mid 70s, my time below the magic 88 is usually under 5 minutes per night. But my PCP isn't too happy with those numbers, so we shall see.

Is this (CMS 50F OLED Wrist Color Pulse Oximeter with Acc U Rate® SnugFit probe) compatible with SleepyHead?

The write-up on the vendor web site says it isn't, but SleepyHead itself states, "Currently works with the entire known CMS50 series." I just don't know which is true--perhaps the SH statement was written before the oximeter I mention here was on the market.

That is for the older version of SH. If you have the newer version, yes, it is compatible.

I'm into night 3 with my new CMS-50F and love it. Note: It makes life easier if you limit your user name to 7 characters or less in SH because that's the limit on the CMS-50F. BTW: I'm using SH 0.9.8-1 testing.

There are 2 models, the CMS 50F (mini USB) and CMS 50FF(mini USB and barrel sensor connector)

I have been using (weekly), an CMS-50FF for the past 3 months.
This is the wrist model with both a mini USB and a barrel connection for the sensor.

The Mini USB is used for download to "Assistant Review", and can be connected for live Data to a computer running "Assistant Live".
I have had no issue importing the Data to SleepyHead.

I have found the data to be accurate and consistent...

I use it to confirm the Data from my APAP, My O2 saturation without APAP consistently run between 90/86%, with the APAP 95/90..

Best $65 in a long time..

I own the 50F. I had a terrible time getting it to import to OSCAR. spent as many as 20 hours trying and finally someone wrote how to get it done. The program is written the program folder and windows does not allow the program to save files there so when I tried to load it to OSCAR there was no file to read. When I finally reinstalled it to the root © every thing worked fine!  Other than that it worked great
