REM or Mask Change? - Lukie - 02-14-2014 [attachment=704][attachment=704]Last night my AHI was higher than usual but I had a great nights sleep subjectively. The first part of the night I wore my Eson nasal mask and only had 1 event. Then in the middle of the night I woke up with stuffy nose and switched to my Quattro Air. I know I had REM because I remember dreaming. But I had a lot of events the second half of the night. My leak rate was not that much more with the Quattro last night. My question is why I had so many events when I switched to a full faced mask. I have found this pattern repeats itself and that I do have more events with a full faced mask. Unfortunately I breath better and can get a deep breather breath through my nosenot my mouth with a full face mask. I don't see a whole lot more leak with the Quattro. Strange. RE: REM or Mask Change? - JohnNJ - 02-14-2014 1) I think you need to adjust the range in the leak graph so you could see the movement clearly. 2) In the events graph I see more centrals than obstructives. Not experienced enough to make any conclusion other than to say it is noticeable. RE: REM or Mask Change? - eviltim - 02-14-2014 I've found personally that small amounts of leaks can make quite a difference. I tried going without my chinstrap for a bit which causes the leaks to creep up and my AHI was around 2 every day, put it back on and it's back to <1. Particularly the 24 threshold where the machine is no longer able to accurately report AHI. Although it doesn't look like you get anywhere near that high -- lucky! |
