ResMed s8 elite II data - mjpr - 02-16-2014

Is the data on this machines readout complete enough information to base decisions on pressure changes etc. I have been charting results for 2 months and according to machine when leak rate was under 24 LPM(29 times) , only once was AHI under 5. I cant understand why the AHI will not go down.

RE: ResMed s8 elite II data - zonk - 02-16-2014

S8 Elite is fixed pressure machine, pressure stay constant all night and does not auto-adjust as in Autoset, depending on type of events. whether leak is a problem or not, we cannot just tell by the number display on the screen, we need the software to see the detailed data graphs. You can download ResScan from here, in addition to the smart data card that supplied with the machine, you also need Resmed smart card reader, available on ebay from Israeli seller

Whats AI and HI?
Try avoiding sleeping on your backs, more likely airways collapse in this position, on your side is preferable
EPR drop the pressure on exhale which some people find more comfortable breathing out against the pressure but at the time pressure drop can have some effects if the set pressure is not optimal

Averages when LPM <=24..... AHI 12.5, AI 5.25, HI 7.25 Usually start on my back but roll to side. Will try adjusting EPR. Thanks.
