So I put a new hose on yesterday - justMongo - 04-07-2014

I use a regular 22mm hose. My DME give me a no-name hose that's actually 6 feet, not 2 meters.
Well, I put the new hose on; and it's really tight.

I don't want to break that plastic 22mm nipple on the H5i.
Has anyone found a lube that will harm neither the plastic nor the tubing?

I've used a generic hose on my S9 humidifier since I got the machine. The best lubricant that I've found is my own saliva. Just lick the opening of hose or if squeamish, use your finger after wetting it in your mouth.

I'll try that. It's really a terrible hose. I see it's for sale at a well know online retailer of about 5 USD.
It came folded , and it has taken a set in a zig-zag shape. I think I'll toss it, and get a name brand slim hose.

When I get a new hose, the first thing I do (after taking it out of the package) is to hang it over the door after I run warm water through it. This gets rid of the multiple kinks and only gives me one in the middle which usually disappears. I use a 10 foot hose and run over the top of my headboard so the one jink isn't too noticeable.
