Intellipap Autoadjust -- some settings not understood - Jean-Louis Debert - 05-23-2014
Hi all,
I have recently acquired a Devilbiss Sleepcube Autoadjust (Intellipap Autoadjust for USA people) and I went about to understand, and sometimes to adjust, the various settings available in the "Clinician" menu.
Most of these settings are straightforward enough, but I am baffled by some settings in the "Advanced" submenu
These settings are as follows:
---- menu item ---- current set value -----
Apnea % 10
Apnea Duration 10 seconds
Hypopnea % 50
Hypop Duration 10 seconds
Well, I can understand the "duration" part, it must be the length of time needed to trigger a response from the device (pressure increase). Although a default of 10 seconds seems to me a bit much ... What do you think about that ?
But what about the percentage part ??? How do you interpret this ?

I assume changes to these variables affects the reported events and thus AHI when using software like sleepyhead... If you use the default values, how do the thresholds and reported events compare to other machines like the S9?
I'm getting AHI's in the 6-8 range and see others posting ahi's (mostly with S9 machines) much lower. How much of that might be threshold sensitivity vs. actual differences in ahi?
