NUMBERS IN BOXES (ResScan) - worthog - 04-10-2012
Can someone explain to me what the numbers mean that are in the boxes at the top of the red "Obstructive" arrows, that can be seen when viewing "Events" on the ResScan data.

Thanks Zonk, so at what number should one be concerned, I seem to have about 6 lasting 10 to 18 secs. Think thats ok.
But then on some nights I have had 1 lasting 55 secs and others around 14 secs

They are your apneas and the height justifies the time spent in the event. If you download the Manual you will get a better explanation of what everything means.

Last night my readings were which gave a AHI of 1.0
- Obstructive = 2/18, 2/10, 2/11
- Hypopnea = 2
Previous night my readings were, which also gave a AHI of 1.0
- Obstructive = 55, 28, 3/12, 2/14
- Hypopnea = 1
I would of thought the previous night would of been a higher AHI

I think the main thing is how you feel and as you see improvement then the therapy is working and don,t be concerned AHI is very good some would give their first born
As long as the 50 seconds apnea are not frequent would assume it,s OK and would suggest make a note of the those events and show to your sleep doctor on the next appointment.
At times I noticed 40/50 seconds apnea and thought may be due to my deviated septum and as nose become congested the air flow get restricted so might not be enough air passing through the nasal passages

Nope - AHI is "events per hour" not how many seconds per hour. One 10 second event is the same as one 20 minute event (*really* exaggerated number, for illustration purposes) as far as AHI is concerned.
