Resmed Escape 9 detailed data - maurci - 11-27-2014

hi,
I'm Italian,
I use a CPAP Resmed Escape 9 and I would like to download data from the SD.
I downloaded the software ResScan 5.1, but I can get only the data compliance
and not the detailed data. I understood, from the users' manuals, which for this model are not recorded detailed data. Is there a method or I need to change the CPAP?
sorry for my language.
thanks

Hi maurci and welcome
ResMed S9 Escape only report usage, how many hours using the machine each night and nothing else on the machine or on the SD card that is useful to monitor your therapy

You need either S9 Elite or S9 AutoSet

Welcome maurci, we can understand you fine so don't be sorry about the language, can you swap it for an Elite or Autoset? The Autoset is the better CPAP but more expensive as well, good luck and let us know how you go Smile

I'm not sure of CPAP prices in Italy, but if you're looking to get a data capable machine, compare on-line prices in US, they're lot cheaper than Australian prices
Supplier #2 ship outside US, they have used and new machines. I recommend S9 AutoSet, you can use it in two ways, fixed CPAP or auto-PAP and only cost few dollars more

Thanks for the replies,
as I thought the problem is the CPAP.
in Italy this therapy is provided the National Health Service so you can have it for free, but I can not choose the model and the masks (2 for year). Now if I decide to buy it and follow me to a private doctor should I spend 1,600 euro for the CPAP, the humidifier + 2 masks and more about 200 euro for the visits. Obviously I would have followed in a different way, but it would be worth?

Hi maurci,
WELCOME! to the forum.!
Unfortunately, you won't get much data off of the S9 Escape, as others have mentioned above.
Hang in there for more responses to your post and much success to you with your CPAP therapy.

If you are going to pay for it yourself then I would follow up on Zonk's suggestion. Check out the #2 supplier in the supplier list on this site. there is a link to the supplier list at the top of each page that you can click on to get to it.

I do not know what the requirements are like in Italy. In the U.S. an individual must have a prescription to get a PAP machine and for the masks but the prescription can be from any medical doctor. Australia does not require a prescription for any of this and they can buy from Supplier #2 without even seeing a doctor if they want. It would be worth communicating with Supplier #2 to find out about buying from there and what they would require, if anything more than money.

i think you could do much better money wise if you can buy from an online supplier. Check with Supplier #2, it is probably worth your while.

Best Regards,

PaytonA

That's a good question. Not easy to answer. If you are having trouble tolerating the CPAP machine, then perhaps you will qualify for a free upgrade to a machine that is fully data-capable. On the other hand, if you are sleeping well with the machine you could just be satisfied with that.

Meanwhile, you could look for a used machine and keep the one you've got for travel and for emergencies.

RE: Resmed Escape 9 detailed data - zonk - 11-27-2014

We have members in UK in a similar situation, they're given the S9 Escape machine from NHS and they go on buying data capable machine out of pockets

It would not cost the Italian or UK NHS a lot more giving the AutoSet than the Escape, the price difference between the two machines is very small and they can negotiate better deals from ResMed as they buy in bulk. Actually it would save them a lot of money long term on sleep studies and doctor visits ... also engaging the patient in their own treatment, engaged patient is a compliant patient ... win win situation Coffee

Do your sum, just checked some prices from Supplier #2
Gently Used ResMed S9 AutoSet and Accessories $479 ... 385 euro
*New, Zero Hour (Open Box) ResMed S9 AutoSet and Accessories $699 ... 560 euro. Plus $70 (56 euro) for shipping ... approx

Supplier #10 also ship outside US, I get from them masks parts and hoses, etc ..

Machines are multi-voltage, you need a plug adapter or you can use the same cord you're using with your machine right now
