CPAP nose mask - dvett - 12-10-2014

I just received my cpap machine and I'm wondering do I breathe out thru the nose mask or thru my mouth?

If it's a wisp nasal mask you breathe in and out through your nose.

Welcome to the board.

If its a nasal mask your mouth stays shut and you breathe out thru your nose. If its a full face it doesnt matter.

Hi dvett,
WELCOME! to the forum.!
Since you are using a nasal mask, you breathe out through your nose while keeping your mouth closed.
Hang in there for more responses to your post and much success to you with your CPAP therapy.

You might not like your mouth open, the air will just rush right by Smile

Good Luck you will train yourself in no time at all.

You may need a chin strap to help keep your mouth closed. Else, air going in your nose will go out your open mouth before it ever gets to your lungs.

I find most married men are pretty capable of keeping their mouths shut after many years of training. Dielaughing
