Anyone else hungover today... - eviltim - 01-09-2015

You know the feeling. Friggin genius here washes his CPAP equipment, it's all nice and shiny, then he goes to bed with his mask on.

And the hose lying on the floor and the CPAP machine off.

Now I have a pounding headache. And I have to work out today. Outside.

Hope everyone else's treatment is going well! Mine is, when the CPAP machine is turned on anyway.

That's a first to me. but ya, I can see that happening...

Don't feel bad. I've gotten up in the middle of the night, fed that cat, and then put my mask back on and went back to sleep. Got up two hours later and realized I never turned the machine back on. My wife woke up during the period and said she never heard me so quiet. Placebo effect? Thinking-about

Unfortunately, I know the feeling. I like a guy that will admit his screw ups, many take themselves too serious to have fun with their blunders. The Darwin awards are full of stories with people who have removed themselves from the gene pool.

Seen a lot of very smart people do a lot of stupid things when out of their element. Thanks for the chuckle Bigwink

I've put my mask on and wondered why I had such resistance breathing and discovered that I'd forgotten to turn on the machine, (Ha-Ha,) duh.

I usually know when the machine is off because I have trouble breathing, in this case I was so out of it the hose wasn't even plugged in so I was able to breathe easily through the mask hole.

Hi eviltim,
Oh I understand what you are saying.
Hopefully you have a better night, tonight.

No one here uses the auto-on feature?

RE: Anyone else hungover today... - TyroneShoes - 01-10-2015

That indeed does fix many of these issues.

I use it because first, I have the machine behind my bed so I can't reach it. Its also nice to take the mask off in the morning and the APAP is smart enough to go "oh...not needing that any longer?" and shuts off on its own.

It also alerts me if something is wrong. A few times when I check for blowback when starting a session I get none, and the humidifier door is not latched or the SD card is protected.

Don't beat yourself up; we all goof up occasionally. Were it me, tho, I would use this as a sign that auto-on should be invoked.

I do not think that eviltim was beating himself up - just getting a chuckle out of his own humanity.
