Observation - using soap for facewash reduces leaks! - Asjb - 01-17-2015

My apologies if this is old news for seasoned CPAP users but I was plagued by unacceptable mask leaks no matter what I did with the straps etc until I changed from a lifetime 'beauty regime'! of using only water to wash my face to using soap as well, followed by the strictest bearable drying with a rough towel. '95%'
results for leak now zero every night. Thought I would post this just in case it might help even one person.

Yes, that is a common cure for reducing leaks. There are a number of posts that pop up, though, that make you say, "Duh, why didn't I think of that?". One of those rituals, now. Sometimes when a senior moment kicks in, I forget, and either struggle all night, or get my lazy self up, and do the deed. A beard stubble sometimes causes problems for me, but maybe not so much for you. I also have to wash cushion every night, for the same reason. Thinking about some wipes I can get for the mask, to cut some labor. I don't remember the ones to use you can buy without paying so much online for those labeled for cpap use

I wipe my cushions every night with baby wipes. I make sure I get the unscented and alcohol free ones.
Works for me.
