Weinmann CPAPs? - OMyMyOHellYes - 04-30-2015 Are the Weinmann devices not FDA approved or available in the US? OMMOHY RE: Weinmann CPAPs? - PaulaO2 - 04-30-2015 Apparently not. I couldn't find any reference to US sales. NZ and Germany and a few other countries. RE: Weinmann CPAPs? - OMyMyOHellYes - 04-30-2015 They look cooler than anything we got. RE: Weinmann CPAPs? - zonk - 05-01-2015 Here is a nice review http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-Weinmann-SOMNObalance-e I don't know why you cannot buy machines made in Germany in US but you can buy machines made in China RE: Weinmann CPAPs? - player - 05-01-2015 It looks large. RE: Weinmann CPAPs? - AshSF - 05-01-2015 If you go to their website and read up about their nasal pillow mask, they expect it to last 1 year. I guess they are much more advanced than Resmed's technology which Resmed admits only lasts 15 days per set of pillows RE: Weinmann CPAPs? - OMyMyOHellYes - 05-01-2015 (05-01-2015, 02:38 AM)player Wrote: It looks large. To me, it looked a lot smaller than the S-10 Resmed and has a nice touch screen display - that puts out a lot more info on that screen than what I've seen available here. OMMOHY RE: Weinmann CPAPs? - justMongo - 05-01-2015 They are made in Hamburg. Getting approval in other countries can be expensive. Perhaps it is a market driven decision to not try to get approval in places like the US when PR an RM have such a large market share. Could be, but I would guess that one of the biggest national markets for CPAPs would be the US and even a small part of that market would be big $$, especially if the fixed costs of R&D and production had already been covered by European sales. I guess the regulatory burden may be too great, or they may already be selling everything they can make. without big new capital expenditures. OMMOHY |
