Change settingsi - Stefani - 05-25-2015

I often feel like I am suffocating and jerk the mask off.....often during the first hour. Can you help me bump it up as I feel it will help greatly. In addition to sleep apnea I also have Idiopathic Hypersomnia. Aargh!

Stephanie -

Please let us know your machine (specific model) and your current pressure settings. Through the years, Resmed has made several models of BiPAPs.

If it is a current, or reasonably current, machine, you can request a clinician manual (see the little tab just under the site banner that says"CPAP Setup Manuals") and that will give you the information to get into the clinician's setup menus so you can change pressures...

Many folks find the lower setting on their machines to be too little air and feel suffocated. Same for the ramp feature.

Good luck -

Hi Stefani,
WELCOME! to the forum.!
If you have the ramp feature turned on, you might turn it off and see if that helps.
Hang in there for more suggestions and much success to you with your CPAP therapy.
