Resmed Autoset S8 Spirit - andyjh64 - 06-05-2015

Hi I wonder if anyone can give me an opinion on this machine as I've been using it for a few years now but I can't really afford to upgrade it at the moment. It still seems to be working OK but I realise it's a bit of a dinosaur. Is its age likely to be compromising my therapy?
Thanks!

Your S8 may need calibration, but as long as it's putting out the proper pressure, it should work as well as ever. (Calibration probably isn't an issue if you're using auto mode.) That said, CPAP technology has improved greatly since the days of the S8. I switched from an S8 Autoset II to a PR DS560 in April. The new machine brought my AHI from 2 or 3 down to about 0.4, and it has improved my sleep noticeably.

Thanks Big_Dave you more or less confirmed what I thought. Will probably hang on to it for a few more months
