You need to call the secretary and have her provide you with a copy of the sleep study including all the detail pages not just the summery and any prescription he sent to the supply company.
If in the U.S. You have a right to copies of everything. You will over time want to learn what all the details mean. You will also want to do research here BFORE you get any equipment, to be sure you get the best equipment for you.
Always remember, no one cares more about your health then you.

Thanks. I live in Canada and at least in my area its not the "norm" to request your own reports. You cannot choose your own doctor either. The secretary did fax me the report. My main concern is that if it is totally because of my weight, I can not worry as much but if I have an underlying lung issue that is triggering it (or making it worse) then I want to see a Respirologist. From the sounds of it I have an awful lot of "hypopneas" and desaturate a lot.

Hey I am in Canada and I request everything medical I can get. Then I keep it in a binder to see what changes happen over time. I do this with lab tests, specialists etc. I don't think a lot of people do this, but I think it is well worth it.

Where I live in Canada (west coast) you certainly can choose your doctor, I've done that more than once with no problems.

Most places that test you will provide you with a copy of your results if you ask for it. The company that does my blood tests actually provides them on line after a couple of days and I generally see them before my G.P. does. I forgot to ask for a copy of my sleep test but my G.P. got a copy and read it out to me.

As I guessed, the doc probably is going the supplemental oxygen route instead of CPAP. Getting rid of the desaturation is the primary concern at this point.

As you mentioned, you have not changed in weight since a past satisfactory test. I would wait to kick yourself.

Ha! I love your humor!! I will be anxious to see what happens. Once you know you have a definite problem, its kind of scary to go to sleep at night!

Oh they will give me a copy of a report when requested for sure. But I know I have asked in the past and was told to "ask your doctor" and then the doctor just explained it to me even when I asked for a copy. He has since left the country! I live in the east and there are a lot of people without family doctors in my city so we can't change family doctors. We can certainly ask to change specialists though.
