dcr surgery
Anybody have this surgery for a plugged tear duct? Doc wants me to do it, and I am concerned about my cpap blowing out my tear duct into my eye. Experiences?

RE: dcr surgery
I have my tear ducts plugged by my eye doc. I have used my cpap for a few years now with no issues but I don't know about doing just the opposite of what I had done.

Thanks so much for that link - doesn't sound promising for that option.

Did they try simple measures like probing/syringing the duct?

Just once, a while back. Think that is my next option. Not going to jump into surgery, but have read that scar tissue from the probing can cause problems also.

Herefishy - I had DCR surgery (twice) several years back, and it makes CPAP extremely challenging. Air will come out of your tear ducts unless you use a total face mask, with which I am not succeeding. Going to try an oral mask, we'll see what happens...
